G&K Disposal – Garbage
Key Points to Know:
Residents are allowed up to 2 garbage carts and 2 recycling carts. If a third garbage cart is wanted, there will be an extra billable charge for the 3rd. A maximum of 2 carts are allowed for recycling. A 3rd recycle cart is not an option.
Please contact the City Hall at 605-232-4276 if you need the quantities of bins changed.

Garbage Information
Garbage that can be placed in carts are household garbage, grass cuttings and leaves. *Grass or leaves need to be bagged and placed in garbage container. *Tree limbs will be accepted if smaller than 4′ in length, placed inside the garbage container and the lid is able to close.
*Your garbage container will not be dumped if it contains ashes, dirt, cement, building supplies, appliances or tires.
Items left beside your cart will not be picked up. Please see below for items that are not allowed.
Garbage may not be picked up if:
The cart is too heavy.
An improper container is being used.
Carts are not at the Curb.
Contains an item banned from landfills (liquids, tires, batteries).
Special service is required for a particular item.
Item is not in the cart.
Items are not bundled properly. (small branches/yard waste)
Your garbage cart contains a tv, batteries, chemicals. empty gas can, or appliances.
Your garbage cart contains Construction Debris (Wood, shingles, concrete, drywall)
Your garbage cart contains a lawn mower, weed eater, snow blower, or generator.
Your garbage cart contains a pressurized cylinder (propane tanks, CO2 tanks, air tanks)
Recycling may not be picked up if:
Your cart contains a tv/appliances (washer, dryer, vacuum).
Your cart contains glass.
Your cart contains pots and pans.
Your cart contains Styrofoam.
Your cart contains clothing, rags, tents, vinyl, carpet.
Your cart contains insulation.
Your cart contains air filters.
Your cart contains food waste.
Your cart contains animal waste.
Your cart contains wood.
Your cart contains mop handles/heads.

City Dumpster
Location: 300 Parkside Avenue, North Sioux City, SD 57049
The City of North Sioux provides a dumpster with the sole purpose for City residents to dispose of large/bulk items, tires, etc.
Appliances and trees are not accepted.
There is a fee depending on load size (see chart below).
Dumpster fees need to be paid within TEN DAYS at City Hall (504 River Drive) or there will be a $5 PROCESSING FEE and the amount will be added to the next month’s utility bill.
DAYS OF OPERATION:
1st and 3rd Saturday’s from 7:30 am to 1 pm (closed on holiday weekends)
There is a fee depending on load size (see chart below)
Spring and Fall Clean-Up
Spring and fall cleanup is available to North Sioux City Residents every year.
Dumping fees will be waived with the exception of the tire disposal fees. ($3.00 per tire will still apply)
Spring cleanup typically takes place in the month of April.
Fall cleanup typically takes place in the month of October.
