Dear Residents,

As many of you already know, the City’s utility billing and payment processes have undergone a significant change as a part of implementing a new financial accounting software system. Changes such as printing monthly utility bills on postcards have been largely positive and have already saved the city from having to buy envelopes and pay for extra postage. Other changes, such as the automatic payment and e-check processes and their associated fees, have been a disappointment. The automatic payment of utility bills is something the City wants to encourage.

We have been working tirelessly to find a solution to this problem and with the help of Liberty National Bank, we now have a solution which will allow residents to pay their utility bills in a manner similar to how it was done previously. Unlike the other automatic/online payment methods that go through a third-party payment processor, this payment method has no fees associated with it.

We are including a form with this letter which will allow you to sign up for this payment method. If you wish to utilize this payment method, please complete the form and return it to City Hall. If you have already created an online account to pay for your utility bill automatically, that payment method will be deactivated once we set up your new automatic payment. Your online account will still be active for you to view your usage, balance, etc.

Automatic bank draft payments will be pulled on the 10th of each month.
