General Election Information
Absentee Voting for:
Any registered voter may vote by absentee ballot, and do not need to provide a reason in order to absentee vote. Absentee ballots are available 15 days prior to the election. A voter desiring to vote by absentee ballot must request an absentee ballot application from your Election Official or you may print your own absentee ballot application.
The application shall be made in writing and be signed by the applicant and state the applicant's voter registration address. In South Dakota, the Election Official must receive your application for absentee ballot no later than 5:00 pm the day before the election.
North Sioux City's Finance Officer is the Election Official in the City's municipal election.
General / Primary
For general and primary elections, the Union County Auditor is the Election Official. All voting would be coordinated through the Auditor's office at the Union County office building in Elk Point.
