McCook Lake Boat Launch Gate

597 Lakeshore Drive

Operated by the City of North Sioux City, the boat launch is located off Lakeshore Drive between Exits 2 and 4. A launch pass is required to use the City's launch site. For your convenience, a paystation is located at the ramp.

To use the boat launch, you must have a debit or credit card, and the payment card acts as your "key card" to enter and exit. Permit receipt will print and must be placed face up on the driver's side dashboard.

Boat Launch Fees

To pay, drivers will need to exit their vehicle to reach the paystation. Once payment has been secured, the gate will stay open long enough to accommodate the vehicle and trailer.

Annual Rate

$30, valid for one year from purchase date

Annual passes must use their your "key card" (same debit or credit card from the original purchase) to enter and exit on all subsequent visits.

Payments will be used to offset the costs for the ramp, dock and general maintenance.

General Information

Your watercraft must be ready to launch before you enter the launch area. Only one vehicle at a time is allowed.

Use Exit 4, McCook Lake exit
Take a right onto Northshore Dr
Immediate left at Streeter Dr
Continue left around corner on Streeter
Take right on either Wycoff or Alcoma Dr
Then a left onto Lakeshore Dr
Continue South, ramp on left

From South on I29:
Use Exit 2, North Sioux City exit
Take a left onto River Dr
Go under overpass
First street on right is Streeter Dr, go right
Take left onto Bruneau Dr
Then take right onto Lakeshore Dr
Continue North, ramp on right
